The Computer Operator Technology Program is a 300 Clock-hour program designed to develop basic student competence in word processing, spreadsheet, and data entry operations necessary for basic entry-level employment in today's automated office environment. Students will develop basic skills necessary for employment within the field of Data processing, Word processing (including preparation for employment within clerical and industrial centers). Students learn to operate machines that type, print, sort, compute, send, or receive information.

Students are critiqued through course examinations, computer generated work experience practice sessions, and attendance. Student’s who successfully complete this program in the projected 16-week period will be able to monitor and control electronic computers to process business, scientific, engineering, and other data according to operating instructions. Students will also learn to set control switches on computer and peripheral equipment, such as external memory, data communicating, input, synchronizing, and output/printing devices to integrate and operate equipment according to program, routines and subroutines, and data requirements specified in operating instructions.
